a kindred spirit

I don't like this technology Dad.

First there's machines that wash dishes, next they'll have robots to do my homework for me. 

After a little digging, I find she is not happy at the prospect of her school using iPads next year.  She likes her pencils; Ticonderoga no. 2 of course.

Then I lose her trying to brighten her spirits with a discussion on college baseball bat specifications.  After all these years, I still don't know how to talk to girls.
