I remember a trip up into Amish country when I was a kid to pick up a load of lumber. There was the normal slowing down to get around a horse and buggy from time to time. But then we came up on a lone bycyclist. Dad slowed down and passed. But he passed the way most people do and just sort of got over a little and rode on by. I, being a kid and fresh with knowledge and ideas of how things ought to be, gave him a bit of a lecture as to how the bicycle has the same right to the road as a car. You are suppose to pass wide in the other lane just as if you are passing a car. Yada, yada. Whatever....
My take away from this article: "avoid harm by assuming that every driver was “a mouth-breathing drug addict with a murderous hatred for cyclists.”" or joggers.
